Is the season rapidly winding down or what? Seems like last week we were celebrating Memorial Day and the beginning of our season and now we are looking at just several days to Labor Day Weekend. Many of our Children are already back in school and the others counting the 6 or 7 days before they too will be carrying the heavy book load and meeting up with old friends.

All is not lost however because there is still much on the O.C. entertainment schedule, the ocean water is as warm as it has been all summer, the fish are beginning their Fall run and our beaches are not quite as crowded. And, how about no waiting for a table at our favorite eating place.

The nex t 5 days will provide air temps in the low 80’s and hopefully carry over into the weekend. If you are planning a weekend at the beach or already here there will be plenty to do. Bring a lawn chair to N. Division Street on the beach for concerts on the 1st. and 2nd. On Sept. 1, the Eagles Tribute Band, Hotel California, will be appearing and on the 2nd, Captain Fantastic will be doing an Elton John tribute. Both shows aree free and should be quite entertaining.

August 31 to Sept 2, you can take in the Labor Day Weekend Arts and Crafts Festival at the Ocean City Convention Center at 40th Street and The Bay. Crafter’s from the tri state area will be displaying their handcrafted wares.

The big event coming up on the week of Sept. 13-16 will be Delmarva Bike Week with over 100,000 motorcycle enthusiasts participating. This has always been a big event with major concerts, celebrity bike builders, thrill shows and so much more. If you like bikes, you wont want to miss this one.

You wont want to miss Sun Fest this year. As always, there is always plenty of great entertainment. This years headline will be Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton. I don’t know how the City got him but they did. Stay in touch and I’ll keep you posted as to when Wayne will be appearing and the cost of his show as well as a complete update of the four day event.

While in Ocean City, you will want to stop by the Makai Sales trailer for info on the progress of the lowest priced new construction on the beach with the best amenity package. The building is almost completed with settlements to begin mid November. Proximity to the Convention Center (next door), one block to the beach, spectacular ocean and bay views, tropical pool, childrens arcade, billiards room, fitness center with sauna, activity room, T.V. lounge and so much more makes the Makai the perfect vacation get a way as well as a super rental package. Drop me an e-mail for more information.

W e here in Ocean City look forward to seeing you for some fun and relaxation. When here, don’t forget to be safe and cross only at market cross walks.

Been some time since my last update and not because there has been nothing to write about. Ocean city has been bustling now that we are truely in  prime time for beach vacations. But, the past 30 days are behind us.

Let me bring you up to date on what to expect this week. Today and tomorrow (the 4th. and 5th.) we find the Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball tournement returning to Ocean City. You can catch all the action, free of charge, on the beach next to the pier at Dorcheser Street. If you like volleyball, you wont want to miss this one.  Also this weekend, we find  that the “Funkmaster Flex Car Show” will be at the Convention Center from 10-10 today and 10-6 tomorrow. There you will find the best in exotics, classics, muscle and custom cars and bikes. Tomorrow, Sundaes in the park continues its summet schedule featuring “The Groove Train” (a disco party band) and ” Lollipop the Clown” for the children. As usual, admission is free. Just bring a blanket or lawn chair.

The “biggy” this coming week, Aug. 6-10 is the world famous “White Marlin Open” where anglers come from throughout the United States to try there hand at winning in excess of 1.75 million dollars for the largest white marlin caught. Total purse is 3.5 million dollars. You can catch the weigh ins every afternoon on 14th Street and the bay (Harbour Island). Just rember that parking is at a premium and I suggest taking the bus. You can also see the parade of fishing yachts as they leave the Ocean City Inlet each morning at dawn. It is a sight to remember providing you can get out of bed that early.

After all the entertainment  and excitement you still have the remainder of the week for funning and sunning on our white sandy beaches. Remember to swim near and pay attention to the warnings of the lifeguards.

While in Ocean City, stop by the Makai Condominium at 4201 Coastal Hwy. The new construction project is nearing completion and still boasts the lowest prices for new construction at the beach. Besides the prices, you’ll find the best amenity package to include Indoor tropical pool, activity room, T. V. lounge, childrens arcade, fitness center with sauna and much more. Most units have ocean and/or bay views and all come fully furnished by Kendall Home Furnishings.  Granite counter tops and ceramic tile floors  provide additional decorator touches. The sales center  is open daily from 10-4 with highly trained sales persons to answer questions. You can also visit my web-site at www.makaicondos.com  for a complete overview. You will be pleasantly surprised at what your dollar will buy.

While in Ocean City, please remember to drive carefully and cross only at marked crosswalks. Have a great vacation.
