Not much of a beach day today with cloudy/overcast skies, temps in the upper 70’s and a good chance for “T” storms this afternoon. All in all it has been a perfect week for vacationers and locals alike. Forecast for the next 4 days calls for temps in the mid to upper 70’s, partly cloudy Saturday and Sunny on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. This coming week is a great time to pack the car and head to O.C. The town has planned another spectacular July 4th celebration with concerts and of course fireworks on the beach downtown and at Northside Park. In the event you do venture out that day/eve, you should consider riding the bus for just $2.00 (round trip).
A great side trip while in Ocean City is a day at Assateague Island State/National Park. There is so much to do there. Surf fishing, miles 0f wide sandy beaches, and of course the World famous Assateague Ponies. Although the ponies are quite friendly and always looking for a handout, feeding is prohibited and we must remember that the ponies are wild and may bite if you get too close.
Before or after the fireworks, sunning and funning, your next stop should be to visit the Makai Condominiums at 42nd Street and the Bay just next to the Convention Center. The sales center is open daily from 10 to 4 and models available for your viewing pleasure. The Makai boasts the lowest priced new construction in Ocean City with some of the greatest ammenities to include a year around bayfront tropical pool, childrens arcade, T.V. lounge, activity room, gentlemans/billiards room, state of the art fitness center with sauna and spectacular bay and ocean views. Just one block to the beach and convenient to everything.
Remember, while in Ocean City, always put safety first and cross at marked crosswalks only. Have a great stay.
Another perfect weekend in paradise is behind us. Weather was unbelievable and there was, of course, more than enough sunshine to go around. Ocean temps are becoming quite tolerable, even for those most sensitive to cold water and from what I’m told, fishing was quite good in the surf and back bay.
The Ocean City business community had a very good weekend with waiting lists at most restaurants. The bay behind Seacrets was packed with boats and the Seacrets shuttle was kept busy ferrying boaters back and forth. Make sure you stop by Seacrets the next time you are in town for a relaxing afternoon/evening in Jamaica U.S.A., after, of course, you have first been to the Makai Condominium on 42nd. Street and the bay to preview the newly constructed models. Besides having some of the best bay/ocean views in O.C. we are also the lowest priced new construction in town. Our models and all units are sold fully furnished and decorated by Kandall Home Furnishings.
Construction began at the Makai on October 10, 2006 and occupancy is anticipated the first week of August. The exterior of the building is really shaping up with our tropical colors that seem to jump out at you. Tropical is the theme at the Makai evidenced by our indoor, bayfront tropical pool that is currently being constructed and updated. 8 ft. billiards tables are in the process of being ordered for our Gentlemans room and furniture, wall hangings and murals have been ordered for the remainder of the first floor fun area. Nothing has been overlooked in the planning of this project. There will be plenty activities even on the dreariest day at the Makai.
Interest rates have taken a slight dip and will hopefully continue to fall in the weeks to come. Now may be the best time to buy a condo for months/years to come.
Although today started off cloudy, the sun is starting to peek through and our sandy beach is starting to accomadate beach blankets and chairs. If you are currently in town or planning a visit, please drive carefully and cross at marked crosswalks only. We want you to arrive and get home safely.
Another beautiful day in Ocean City. Not a cloud in the sky and a gentle breeze makes the tanning sun quite bearable. The Firemans Convention has wound down and the participants will be travelling to their homes and back to work tomorrow. Monday night they sponsored a spectacular fireworks display in the bay behind the convention center. The display just keeps getting better year after year. Our thanks go out to the Firemen.
Now that the convention is over and the “June Bugs” are gone for another year, it’s time to start enjoying paradise. In the event you plan to come to the beach this coming week you should be in for delightful weather. While here don’t forget to stop by the Makai Condominium at 42nd Street and the Bay to tour the lovely models and preview the lowest priced new construction in O.C.
Interest rates took a slight dip today which is always good news and hopefully another decrease is coming this week. I’ll keep my eye on future developments.
Don’t forget to stay safe while on vacation and remember to cross at crosswalks only whereever you are.
Ocean Downs is now open 4 times a week. For a relaxing evening and the opportunity to watch horse racing at a very low cost (no betting required) try the track. So much to do and so little time when on vacation.
The new Makai Condos in Ocean City, Maryland at 42nd St. and the Bay are on sale and ready to preview. It’s been a long winter, but the gorgeous weather and diligence of the construction staff in recent weeks have allowed us to finish the models. We have a two-bedroom and a studio/efficiency model available for potential customers and real estate agents to preview. These totally furnished and decorated models, most with ocean and/or bay views have been designed by Kendall Home Furnishings in West Ocean City. Joe Kendalls Designer, Gloria Dawson, has done a fantastic job with the furniture and accessories. All of our units are equipped with granite counter tops, ceramic tile floors, full appliance packages, washers and dryers, and so much more.

Here’s an update for buyers: We are currently on track to settle on units purchased by late July or August. The outside of the building looks great. We are in the process of building out the amenity floor which will contain a state-of-the-art fitness center, a large billiards room, children’s arcade, activity room with game tables, and a lounge with large screen TV. You will be able to relax by the tropically themed pool with palm trees as you look out at Assawoman bay and the gorgeous sunsets.
We can’t wait to see the building finished. I can vouch for the value and desirability of these condos because I bought one. Since we are right next door to Ocean City’s Convention Center and walking distance from Seacrets, the units will be great as vacation rentals. I plan to market to the golfers in town as well as those attending conventions here in Ocean City and the usual families and groups looking for a great place to stay in Ocean City.
I work with Long & Foster and they are currently offering a .5% mortgage rate buy-down for the first year of loans made on purchases of units at the Makai Condos through June 30. We think that’s a great deal but there isn’t much time.
